Chatting with Laura Xiao, founder of Henné Organics
Curiosity and wanderlust took founder Laura Xiao around the world before starting Henné Organics. Living abroad and moving frequently forced her to declutter and truly focus on the essentials. This habit led to a strong appreciation for beauty in simplicity and luxury in the basics. Henné Organics is Laura’s first step into the indie beauty world, and in a remarkable way she feels that all her past experiences have led her to this point.
Henné Organics’ vision is to reintroduce a splash of luxury into the everyday without sacrificing design, ethics or one’s health. A modern and minimalistic approach replaces standard lip care products with something extraordinary. It is their hope that every time you open a jar of Henné Organics, you experience a moment of indulgence and bliss.
Clean beauty has come so far in the recent years. Not only is it a much healthier option (no toxins, harmful ingredients) but clean beauty products can be just as effective (if not more so) than their non-natural counterparts. On top of that, sustainability is key with clean beauty brands, so you’re being kinder to your own skin and body as well as the planet.
Your self care ritual – an indulgent weekly event or finding moments whenever you can get them?
I like to do shorter self-care rituals during the weekdays (e.g. a Lip Mask session while at work, Lip Serum in the AM and PM), but Sundays are when I have my longest self-care ritual. It starts with a morning meditation, and later in the afternoon a 1hr+ workout. Then in the evening, I spend at least 30-40 minutes on my skincare and body care ritual. From face masks to serums to lip masks, I love pampering my skin and body, and it leaves me feeling refreshed and ready to take on the new week.
It would have to be our Luxury Lip Balm jar (very multi-purpose).

What’s the #1 piece of advice you would you tell your past self just getting started?
Take steps forward every day, no matter how big or small. Even the tiniest baby steps each day will get you closer to your goals.
