July’s ILLUMINATE box featuring Leahlani Skincare & Au Naturale has been a treat to discover. I must confess that this is my first experience with Leahlani Skincare, despite it being a green beauty cult fave, so I couldn’t wait to experience the brand, and it did not disappoint. Au Naturale is a brand I’ve been experimenting with for a few months, but this powder highlighter is a superstar.
Leahlani Skincare Aloha Ambrosia Morning Moisture Elixir: I know, I know. I’m one of the few green beauty enthusiasts who hadn’t tried Leahlani Skincare, and after this introduction to the line, I can see why it’s a cult favorite. Featherweight, potent, and delicious smelling. I can hardly put it into words. I’ve been using it as my moisturizer (final product) on days that I don’t plan to leave the house, and it also wears nicely under sunscreen or makeup on days when I’m off on summer adventures. Jackpot!
au Naturale Pure Powder Highlighter in ‘Begonia’: my caramel skin was like “OH HELL YEAH” to this coppery rose-gold hued silky highlighter. I liked that this fine powder was really versatile, it could be used dry, or with a damp beauty blender for a more dewy glow, and it is highly buildable. Use a brush for a more subtle application, or your fingers to layer on more densely.
I’m putting this everywhere. I’ve worn in the typical highlighter places: cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of my nose. But I’ve also loved it as an eyeshadow and on my collarbones. Like I said, EVERY. WHERE.
This month’s Art of Organics box is the best of both worlds, featuring beautiful skincare and makeup; you really can’t go wrong.
AMBER ELDRIDGE
Truly Amber
Skin type: Normal // Skin concern: Hyper-pigmentation
Leahlani Skincare Aloha Ambrosia Morning Moisture Elixir: Aloha Ambrosia features quality ingredients from Hawaii (again, they have the best stuff there) like antioxidants and vitamins from Mangosteen, goji berry, guava and passionfruit oils. Those lovely ingredients aren’t just for your açaí bowls! This elixir is perfect for daytime. It’s lightweight, absorbs so nicely into the skin, and gives you a nice glowy complexion. I use it before I apply my tinted sunscreen and it’s such a nice way to prime the skin for the day!
au Naturale Pure Powder Highlighter in ‘Begonia’: I love that these powder highlighters are very natural looking – it allows your skin to shine through! The shade Begonia is sooo pretty – it has touches of gold and copper, making it look good on pretty much everyone! You can apply this powder highlighter anywhere you would normally highlight. But I especially like to use this shade on the apples of my cheeks to give me that fresh-out-of-the-sun look!
These two products are must haves for summer!
