Chatting with Dafna Shaham, founder of Dafna’s Personal Skincare

Why Clean Beauty?

I want skincare to be healthy. I want people to use skincare that they KNOW is healthy for them. We live in a society where at times there are too many unhealthy materials around us. During moments of self care we should be taking really good care of ourselves.

Above that, our society is so full of harmful materials, each day we see how it affects our environment and we are the only ones that can stop it. At Dafna Skin we are collaborating with Clean Blue Ocean to keep the oceans more clean. I think we should all do something to help the planet be a safer place.

At Dafna Skin we are always working on resolutions that can help us be more clean.

Your self care ritual: an indulgent weekly event or finding moments whenever you can get them?

My life is so busy: running a business, having 2 young children (4,6). Indulging is something I need to do daily – even if 3 minutes. I need to know that I am dedicated to myself and my skin. It helps me feel better, look better and be kinder to my surroundings ☺

Your deserted island product

Wow. Our Moisture Plus. I can’t live without hydrating my skin. I use it all over a few times a day. And… when I start to think about it – my cleanser is a must as well… As I always use hydration on a clean face. Since childhood I have LOVED applying creams (basically moisturizers)… so I guess for me it’s always been cleansing and moisturizing…

I feel most beautiful when…

When I feel my skin is clean, hydrated and that I had the time to do it right for me…relaxed. That I am able to massage my face and enjoy each step.

What’s the #1 piece of advice you would you tell your past self just getting started?

Yes it’s a tough road and I was not aware of it when I began. I started because I LOVED what I do, to create creams. I started committed to the road because of the love I have for it… which is probably different than making the decision of becoming an entrepreneur.

Advice? Be aware that love is not enough… and you need to be very planned and organized.

What’s on the horizon?I worked for more than a year on a product we launched recently – Serenity Oil. So right now I am enjoying the moment of having another new baby.
